Deborah is a designer whose main research focuses on the design process of working collaboratively with and through the community to address common issues to achieve environmental changes that will improve the health of the community.
Deborah has diverse experience living in and learning from multiple cultures and countries. Besides being educated in the US for over 7 years as a Korean citizen, she was born and raised in New Delhi, India, and spent semesters abroad studying in Prague, Czech Republic, and Barcelona, Spain.
Prior to pursuing her Master's in Architecture with a Certificate in Urban Design at UVA, Deborah worked at Lake Flato Architects, in San Antonio TX, for a year as an Intern and participated in various design processes including setting up construction documents and contributing to a community engagement process in the early phases of design.
Today, Deborah practices as a designer at Wheeler Kearns Architects, in Chicago IL.
